garden bits

The first time I’ve been able to get into the garden for a couple of days (my right leg keeps giving way unexpectedly, due to painful problems with the nerve in my lower back). The small ornamental aliums are now all out, and the first Welsh poppies have appeared. Tom Thumb peas have all germinated OK, and are behind what I hope is a badger-proof cover. I’d almost given up on the runner beans (it’s home-saved seed, which can be variable), but the first of these has now appeared (also in a hopefully badger-proof enclosure), so I’m hoping the rest will follow over the next few days.
