I’ve avoided having a water meter for many years. I first considered it when I lived in London, and then thought about it when I moved to my first place in Worcester in 2011. Being then on a very low, fixed, income, it was better to know exactly what regular monthly payments would be! I’ve been in my current house some dozen years now, and things change, and a metered supply now seems a better bet. So, two very pleasant guys came this afternoon, did quite a lot of work to make life easy (including putting the washing machine connections and the meter in the cupboard under the sink where they’re accessible, rather than immediately above the stopcock where the meter would have made the washing machine stick out several inches) and tidied up afterwards. It’s going to be “interesting” to see how the year’s bills compare …
