It doesn’t seem very long since we had surfeit of wetness, but the lawn and flowerbeds are now cracking with lack of water. Veg beds are watered anyway, and have had masses or organic material dug in over the years … this year it was 40 litres of coir compost / square metre, plus home-made compost.
I’ll have to put the sprinkler on the lawn, I think – the cracks are immediately above the roots of my beloved winter clematis, which doesn’t do well if it gets too dry.
